You begin the experience with a pick-up or transfer from your accommodation in the Sorrento / Castellammare di Stabia area, and one of the vehicles takes you to the valley at the foot of Vesuvius.
From there you mount a pedal-assist electric bike and ride upward along the paved roads of the Vesuvius National Park, gradually ascending through changing landscapes (from lush vegetation to more barren volcanic slopes) until you reach near the crater rim.
At the summit you park the bike and walk to the crater rim, where you can take in panoramic views of the Bay of Naples and surroundings, and learn about the volcano’s geology, flora/fauna and historical eruptions. Afterwards you descend, generally using the electric bike assistance (or aided by it) and then transfer back to your start point.
Runs every day from February to November
