DO YOUR HOMEWORK
Before You Come Into the Superyacht Industry, Do Your Homework
First things first: step away from Below Deck for a minute. 😂
Before you spend your savings on courses or book a one-way flight, find out what working in this industry actually involves.
Speak to working crew. Ask about the long hours, shared cabins, standards expected onboard and the everyday jobs that don’t make exciting television.
Research the role you want, the qualifications you’ll need and the full cost of getting started. Ask training centres exactly what their courses include and what their career support involves.
There are brilliant opportunities in yachting. Give yourself the best chance by arriving prepared, with realistic expectations and a willingness to learn.
Do your homework before you spend your money.
